Working for Solthis

TREAT

The goal of Solthis is to facilitate access to high quality treatment for people with HIV/AIDS including antiretroviral treatment (ARVs).

ACCOMPANY

Thanks to a developmental approach and its teams working in the field, Solthis provides technical support to national participants in the fight against AIDS.

TRAIN

To establish durable programs, Solthis dedicates a major part of its activity to training healthcare professionals and transferring medical and scientific expertise to the field. This also includes organizing and planning the management of patients living with HIV/AIDS.

Solthis' added value

- To work for Solthis is to "heal differently" -

It means dedicating your expertise to a country, to its inhabitants, and to its initiatives, as well as participating in academic and scientific discussions.

Solthis needs teams that can provide ongoing technical support in the field to national participants in the fight against HIV. This also requires participating in scientific and multidisciplinary discussions with the various participants in the fight against HIV to come up with high quality solutions that are adapted to local realities.

This is possible thanks to three levels of intervention that constantly interact:

The Scientific Working Group

In association with an internationally renowned network of universities and hospitals specializing in HIV/AIDS, Solthis regularly organizes scientific working groups. These groups meet to discuss various subjects related to work in the field. Participants include experts in HIV/AIDS, public health and development who take part in the association's different debates and projects. These members may also participate in ad hoc missions to the field to provide support and/or training, which are coordinated by the home office in collaboration with teams in the field.

The Teams in the Field

They are organized around a Project Leader, a Medical Coordinator and an Adminstrative and Logistics Manager. The Project Leader manages the project and interacts with national and international institutions working on the fight against HIV/AIDS. The Medical Coordinator is the on-site representative of Solthis' medical and scientific expertise, and provides ongoing reinforcement of local healthcare teams with support from the Home office. The Administrator/Logistics Manager manages all financial, administrative and logistic aspects of the program and may also work with and support national supply channels and develop partnerships in the local associations. The field teams receive specialized support if needed from local specialists (physicians, midwives, pharmacists, nurses etc.).

The Home Office

The Home office supports all field activities. It is directed by a Managing Director, assisted by a Medical Director, Director of Operations, Pharmacy Coordinator, Communications Director, Administrative and Financial Director, Program Assistant and an Administrative Assistant. The Home office plays a support role for the teams, organizes meetings of the working group, and officially represents the association.
