The Team

The home office

The operations of the association are assured by the home office's permanent staff, in accordance with the orientations decided by the Board of Directors.
The team at the Parisian home office supervises the localy developed programs and sustains the operational staff working out in the field.

It is lead by a Executive Director who is assisted by a Medical Director, a Director of operations, a Pharmaceutical Coordinator, a Communications Officer, an Administrative and Financial Manager, a Human Resources Officer and an Assistant.

The home office supports the field staff, conducts the Scientific Working Group and can represent the association in Public Relations.

Dr Louis PIZARRO, Executive Director, is a Medical graduate of the Cochin-Port-Royal Medical Faculty(Paris V, 1992-1999) and Master of Political Science and International Relations (Sciences Po Paris, 2004). From october 2004 to january 2006, he was Head of mission for Solthis in Niger before joining the team at the parisian home office as the Executive Director.

Dr Florence HUBER, Medical Director, is a dermatologist and specialist in Infectious diseases. She did her clinical work at the Hospital Centre of Cayenne in French Guinea and worked for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to develop ARV programs in Burma and RDC then for Aide Medicale Internationale (AMI) in Afghanistan.

Sophie CALMETTES, Director of Operations, spent three years in the field as an Administrative officer for Action contre la Faim. She then left Urgency for Development, joining Groupe Développement at the home office. For four years, she worked as Program Officer for microfinance and sustaining labour economy in Latin America. She joined Solthis in late 2007 as the Director of Operations where her mission is to sustain, coordonate, follow and evaluate programs developed localy.

Etienne GUILLARD, Pharmaceutical Coordinator, is a pharmacist. He completed a pharmaceutical studentship at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital and is a Master of Environmental Health Research. Afterwards, he became a humanitarian pharmaceutical specialist, and spent 2004 and 2005 in Haiti and in Equator. When he returned to France, he worked in hospitals pharmaceuticals and became an HIV specialist. He joined Solthis in late 2007 where he spends half of the time in the field providing technical assistance to Solthis teams and local partners.

Vanessa MONTROUSSIER, Resources Manager, has a Masters in HR management, was HR manager in different private (logistics, innovation) and associative (insertion, humanitarian) structures and has done several missions in the field.This position was created to develop and implement an HR strategy.

Christophe GUEDON, Administrative and Financial Director, has a diploma in accounting and finance (ICEE) and another in logistics (Bioforce Dévt). He has been the administrative and project coordinator for several different programs out in the field : Afghanistan, Burundi, Albania, Libéria, Mali... Afterwards, he became the Financial Manager at Handicap International's home office, then at MSF Luxembourg's between 1996 and 2005. He joined Solthis in 2006 as the Administrative and Financial Manager and became Administrative and Financial Director in 2008.

Pénélope AUTRET, Communications Officer, received her Master in Political Science from Montreal University (Canada) in 2004. She has worked as a communications manager for several pharmaceutical companies and was the leader of a program to improve the quality of life for people infected with HIV and hepatitis. She joined Solthis in July 2008 to coordinate internal and external communication.

Aurélie ELOY, Administrative and Financial Assisant, received a Professional Degree in Organizations Management with a specialization in Associations Management in 2006. She worked in different associations implicated in international solidarity and development. She joined Solthis in order to assist the home office in the administrative, financial and communication domains.
