The association |

Founded in July 2003 by Professors Christine Katlama, Gilles Brücker, Brigitte Autran and Patrice Debré, with the support of Madame Liliane Bettencourt and thanks to the definitive sponsorship of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, Solthis is an international medical association entirely dedicated to patients with HIV/AIDS in developing countries.
In the countries where it works, Solthis’ goal is to provide capacity building for healthcare systems in order to facilitate access to high quality, sustainable treatment for all patients living with HIV/AIDS, including those living in isolated areas.
With a view toward development overall, and thanks to the daily presence of its teams in the field, Solthis provides in situ technical support to health care professionals and national stakeholders, be they public or private, in the fi ght against HIV/AIDS.
To establish sustainable programs, Solthis dedicates much of its activity to training healthcare professionals and to transferring its medical and scientific expertise to the field.
Solthis has built its intervention strategy around five priority areas:
All patients are treated by national medical teams and are integrated into existing private, public or associative health care infrastructures.
Our teams are there on a daily basis to hear about difficulties and confront the reality of the field with one goal only:
To give each person with HIV/AIDS access to high quality treatment wherever they are, even in the most isolated areas.
Thanks to this presence in the field, a total of more than 4500 patients have received treatment in our programs and more than 1000 healthcare professionals have been trained specifically for HIV/AIDS management.
