Our actions |

The goal of Solthis is to strengthen the capacities of existing healthcare systems in the countries where it works so that they can provide accessible, sustainable, high quality medical treatment to people with HIV/AIDS, even in the most isolated areas.
To implement this strategy, Solthis has adopted a double approach: thanks to its members and field teams, the association has "one foot in the field and one foot in the academy."
Solthis needs teams that can provide ongoing technical support in the field to national participants in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This also means engaging in a scientific and multidisciplinary exchange with all of these participants to come up with high quality solutions that are adapted to local realities.
This is possible thanks to its intervention on three, constantly interacting levels.
Continuing the partnership begun with Solthis in 2005, LASDEL performed field studies :
Solthis joined other Franch associations for the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and for eccess to health in the worl, to kick-off the "Re-mind the gap" campaign on May 12, 2009. The goal of this campaign, which includes nearly fifry associations from numerous countries worldwide, is to call upon the leaders of the richest countries in the world, in particular France, to urgently increase their contribution to the Global Fund for the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, whose needs are estimated to be at least an additional 5 billion US dollars between now and 2010. The commitment to provide access to prevention, medical care and treatment for everyone by 2010, which was made in the last two G8 summit meetings by its leaders, including M. Nicolas Sarkosy, must be respected. This necessarily meands having politicals awareness in the developed countries and increasing the financial efforts. Unless there is an immediate response to these urgent financial needs, the consequences for millions of people in the developing countries will be dramatic.
