Every year, 300,000 women die as a result of pregnancy or childbirth. Among newborns, 3 million deaths occur in the first week after birth. Most of these deaths would be preventable if health systems were improved.
So Solthis is working with the intervention countries to develop treatment capacity, and to develop high-quality and affordable healthcare for all children and women. We are reinforcing skills and public policy to ensure the availability and quality of maternal and neonatal health services.
As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Solthis is committed to frame its action in the global goal of achieving a maternal mortality rate below 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030.
While working on consolidating maternal health services, we will continue to work on community mobilisation in this area as well.
