Training: Approximately 150 e-trained doctors prescribing ARVs and nearly 500 people of health.

OPP-ERA project: 800 viral loads already achieved in Guinea!

Improving the monitoring of people living with HIV and management of therapeutic failures


The use of the HIV Viral Load Test (VLT) is necessary to ensure prescription of the most suitable treatment. Because of its high cost, access to this test is still under-developed in West African public structures.

 

The launch of OPP-ERA project aims at opening the market for viral load tests to the competitive marketplace, thereby combatting overpricing and encouraging technological innovations by privileging the “Open Polyvalent Platforms” model.

Communiqué de presse CSUD: Ebola, la chaîne sanitaire est brisée

Paris, le 30 septembre 2014 – A la suite de la réunion de haut niveau des Nations unies du 25 septembre dernier, et deux jours après le déploiement en Afrique de l'Ouest de la mission des Nations unies pour la lutte contre Ebola, les ONG de Santé de Coordination SUD restent vigilantes à la concrétisation des engagements pour que soient mis en œuvre des moyens logistiques et humains à la hauteur de la virulence de l’épidémie et permettre ainsi à tous les malades d’accéder à des soins et traitements adaptés.

 

Selon les derniers chiffres de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé, publiés le 25 septembre, la fièvre hémorragique Ebola a fait 2917 morts en Afrique de l'Ouest sur 6263 cas, dont 1677 morts au Libéria, 635 en Guinée et 597 en Sierra Leone. Coordination SUD attire l’attention de la communauté internationale sur les conséquences catastrophiques de cette crise sur les systèmes de santé, sur son impact économique et social dévastateur.
