In the framework of the project « Improvement of living conditions of prisoners in Say and Niamey », funded by European Union and implemented by Solthis and its partner the Nigerien Association of Human Rights (ANDDH), a workshop has been held on 11 May under the High Patronage of Minister of Justice of Niger. The aims to promote human rights in Niger, by improving the living conditions in the prisons through improving prisoners' access to quality health, legal and social services, and strengthening the Nigerien civil society in its role of protection and promotion of human rights.
This workshop brought together key actors of Nigerien prison environment. This was the occasion to exchange insights into their own differing roles and actions. It allowed to draw up identify status report on health, social and legal services.
