Infectious and emerging diseases

Since its creation, Solthis has always been invested in the fight against infectious diseases such as HIV, Tuberculosis and the Hepatitis B virus.

Maladies infectieuses et emergentes

Today, Solthis continues its action and brings its expertise to fight emerging diseases such as Ebola (2015 in Guinea) and Covid-19. Indeed, although the Ebola epidemic has enabled health surveillance systems to be strengthened, epidemics still have a strong impact on the health of individuals and on already fragile health systems. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and the emergence of new infectious diseases, Solthis continues to invest in emerging diseases by targeting the following priorities in its actions:

  • diagnosis and management
  • adaptation of essential services during an epidemic crisis to enable continuity of care, especially for chronic diseases
  • prevention, including strengthening hygiene and infection control in health structures and within the community, sensitization and vaccination.
